Revolutionizing Residential Design: The Bailu Villa

Haoling Yu's Award-Winning Transformation of Traditional American Villa into Modern Chinese Living Space

The Bailu Villa, located in the south of Chengdu, is a part of the Lushan International Community, a well-known high-end villa area in Chengdu. The villa was originally a 660 square meter American-style villa, which did not meet the needs of the owners. Haoling Yu, with his team, expanded and transformed it into a 1000 square meter modern villa, more in line with the owners' modern living habits.

Yu's design inspiration came from the contemporary simple lifestyle and rhythm, as well as the real needs of the owners. The transformation resulted in a villa with a reasonable space layout, each individual space having its own area, and the function expanded. The villa is full of artistic flavor and white space, reflecting the designer's preference for clean, simple, and elegant designs.

The transformation process involved the use of pure natural stone material, environmentally friendly solid wood, composite flooring, Italian Caeser floor tiles, staircase floor using marble material, artificial stone, and inlaid with metal glass. The wall paint is clean and simple, with no waste or redundant decoration, reflecting the designer's commitment to environmental protection and natural use of materials.

One of the challenges faced by the designer was the conflict between the original American villas and the owners' modern living habits. Through reasonable transformation and expansion, the designer was able to make the villas more in line with the owners' modern lifestyle. The project started in September 2016 and finished in October 2018, with the whole project required by the owner to be completed within 6 months.

Haoling Yu's innovative design approach and commitment to creating spaces that reflect the modern lifestyle and needs of the owners have resulted in the Bailu Villa, a modern, simple, and elegant residential house that has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
